Zoora FC returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Sunrise Wanderers at a lively Zoora Arena, with Allan Ssenyonga at the heart of everything good about the home side's performance.
Ssenyonga sets the tone early
The forward opened the scoring inside twelve minutes, finishing off a slick move started by Tonny Mukasa. Sunrise Wanderers levelled through Fabian Wandera midway through the first half, but Zoora regained control after the break.
Collins Ochieng struck his first senior goal for the club, turning home a low cross from Ssenyonga just after the hour mark, before Joseph Kavuma made sure of the points with a coolly taken penalty.
A big night for the fan vote too
It was little surprise that Allan Ssenyonga, involved in two of Zoora's three goals, was crowned fans' Player of the Match by a wide margin once voting closed.
"Performances like that are what this squad is capable of when we play with the right intensity from the first minute," said head coach Charles Wamala.
